The students were interested / interesting in the lecture, which was interested / interesting.
The students were interested ... the lecture ... was interesting。
a clear explanationThe explanation is clear. We found the explanation clear.
The explanation is clear. |
We found the explanation clear. |
a practical planan urgent messagethe main reason
a difficult task - 划分类别:
medical research,digital tools
the present members:现有成员The members are present.:成员在场
a lovely small old wooden desk
a long, difficult journey
long 和 difficult 都直接描述 journey,地位接近,可以说 a long and difficult journey,因此常用逗号。
a small wooden box
something usefulsomeone reliablenothing unusual
a guide useful for beginnersstudents eager to improvea decision difficult to explain
the best option availablethe only person awake
The room is quiet. The plan seems practical. The weather became colder. The fabric feels soft.
这里的 quiet/practical/colder/soft 都说明主语,不是修饰动作方式。
She looked calmly at the screen.:looked at表示观看,calmly修饰动作方式。
afraidasleepawarealive
自然:The child is asleep.
The news made everyone nervous.Keep the door open.We found the instructions confusing.
everyone became nervousthe door remained openthe instructions were confusing
She returned home tired but relieved.
Tired after the journey, Maya went straight to bed.
|---|---|
| 形容词 + 介词 | interested in the course |
形容词 + that 从句 | certain that the result is correct |
| 形容词 + 疑问从句 | unsure whether the office is open |
介词通常属于词汇搭配:responsible for, similar to, aware of。
The lecture was boring.:讲座引发无聊感。The students were bored.:学生感到无聊。
an interested audience 中 audience 是群体;a damaged file 中 damaged 不是情感,而是被损坏后的状态。
surprising / surprisedconfusing / confusedsatisfying / satisfiedexhausting / exhausted
a five-minute breaka well-designed coursea user-friendly systema full-time position
a ten-page report,不是 a ten-pages report。
a carefully written report
a well-known authorThe author is well known.
very usefulslightly differentmore difficult
completely impossibleabsolutely essentialalmost complete
small → smaller → smallestlarge → larger → largestbig → bigger → biggesthappy → happier → happiest
12.2 常用 more/most
more useful / most usefulmore difficult / most difficult
good/well → better → bestbad → worse → worstfar → farther/further → farthest/furthestlittle → less → least(数量或程度)
不要重复比较标记:more easier, most fastest 都不标准。
13.1 比较级 + than
This explanation is clearer than the first one.
The salary in City A is higher than City B.
修改:The salary in City A is higher than that in City B.
as clear asnot as clear as
The summary is as clear as the original explanation.
This route is less crowded than the other one.
Maya likes the course more than Lina.
Maya likes the course more than Lina does. Lina:
Maya likes the course more than she likes Lina.
This is the clearest example in the chapter.
the fastest in the classthe most useful of the threeone of the most useful books:注意books用复数。the second-largest city
最高级前常用 the,但已有物主限定词时不用叠加:my best work。
colder and coldermore and more complex
错误:more and more colder
The more carefully you plan, the easier the task becomes.
16. too 与 enough
too difficult to finish today:难到今天无法完成。
The students eager to join the advanced course found the first assignment surprisingly difficult.
eager to join the advanced course后置修饰students。 difficult作宾语the first assignment的补语。
The students found the assignment difficult.
较重:a useful large new online language learning platform
更清楚:a useful new platform for online language learning
19. 自检题
题目
clear的功能:a clear rule / The rule is clear. / We found the rule clear. - 排序:a / wooden / small / beautiful / box。
- 判断是否用逗号:a long difficult journey。
We need useful something.
The instructions were (confusing / confused), so the students felt (confusing / confused).
- 改错:a carefully-written report。
This method is more easier.
The population of City A is larger than City B.
Maya respects the teacher more than Lina.
This is one of the ___ (useful) examples in the chapter.
The more faster you read, the less you remember.
rule。 a beautiful small wooden box。 a long, difficult journey。 We need something useful. confusing; confused。 a carefully written report。 This method is easier. The population of City A is larger than that of City B.比较对象都是人口。
... more than Lina does或... more than she respects Lina。 most useful,完整结构为one of the most useful examples。The faster you read, the less you remember. The instructions are clear enough for beginners to understand.
